Reagan Lindsay turns 9

I can not believe Miss Reagan turned 9 years old last week. She celebrated her 9th birthday on September 25th. We celebrated with a birthday party at Mr. Gatti's Pizza in Seguin. She had a good turn out and everyone enjoyed pizza, games and of course birthday cake. She had the "High School Musical" theme. Reagan got lots of nice gifts and money. She is a saver too. She is saving for a PSP. Reagan has grown up so fast. She is in 3 rd grade now. She takes gymnastics and will start going to meets soon. She is in the Smiley 4-H club and she is going to be raising rabbits as her project. She loves math in school and loves to read books about animals. She participated in Mustang mini-cheerleader camp again this year and can't wait to be a real cheerleader. She and I really enjoy spending time together.....she is Granna's buddy! Oh and even though I think she is waaaaay to young...she has a boyfriend, Lane Newman who is also in 3rd grade. Of course how do you really date in 3rd grade????

To Be Young Again

I'm back!!! Wow it has been a busy month. Why when your young does time seem to tick by....I can't wait until Christmas, can't wait for a new bike, I can't wait to start High School, to get my drivers license, go on a first date, graduate, go to college, get married, have a baby....and then WHOA....its already Christmas and it seems summer was just barely over, the weeks end to quick, clothes get tighter (not by choice), your boobs start to sag (again not by choice), you find wrinkles in places you never thought possible, you settle for reality tv instead of a night on the town, your idea of a good time is a nap and last but not least, intimacy used to be hours, then minutes and now you can do what you have to do during commercials and never miss your show!!!! Hummm??? Things I remember about being young...writing in Big Chief tablets, keeping your colors in a cigar box, fountain sodas at the drug store, at recess you played jump rope, hop scotch or played make believe. Cokes at the football game were a quarter, you picked teams doing ienney meanny miney moe, birthday parties were only cake and punch at your house and guests played red rover in the yard, you used a real type writer, you had to get up to change channels on the television....memories. Well better go..its a commercial!!!

Haylie Ann

This is a picture of my darling granddaughter, Miss Haylie Ann Hansen. She is 4 years old and cute as a peach!! She is the daughter of my son, Kyle. She has a very vivid imagination. She reminds me alot of myself as a kid. She is taking tap and ballet lessons and next month they will be having a dance recital. She loves to be around other kids. This picture I have posted is when she attended mini-cheerleader camp. She loved it!! Both of her parents are kinda shy and reserved but not her! She is very sociable. Look out kindergarten....she will turn 5 on July 9th so she will start school this next coming school year. Boy does time fly. She is definitely a girly girl, loves the color pink, likes to play dress up and loves barbie dolls. Her favorite movie is "Flicka" and she likes to pretend she is "Katie" the main character in the movie. She loves clothes and she really loves shoes. The only thing she doesn't like that most girly girls do is talk on the phone. Hey, at least she won't run up high cell phone bills when she's older!

Making Plans

Well summer will be here before you know it. John and I are trying to come up with ideas to go somewhere and we seem to always go to the beach. So with the beach out of the question....we are contemplating a trip to Arkansas to Murfreesboro to stay in an authentic teepee, they have paddle boats etc. and tour the diamond mind and hunt for arrowheads. Kind of roughing it!! Going to or coming from that destination, stopping in Dallas and going to Six Flags. Hey its something different! Still undecided but we think it might be fun and not break the bank. Of course after going to Disney World with the kids it seems like anything we do could never compare to that trip. This is one of the pics we took in September while we are at Disney World. I LOVE THAT PLACE!

Here is the picture I intended to post with my latest entry...

I'm Back

Sorry its been so long since I've blogged. Not much has been going on or nothing worthy of talking about anyway. I had breakfast with my breakfast club today. It is so nice to get together with my friends once a week and catch up on the weeks happenings with everybody. I look so forward to Thursday mornings. I also look forward to bookclub that meets once a month. This month we are discussing TWILIGHT. Its basically a vampire book but suprisingly I am really enjoying the story. I enjoy getting together with my family too. The last gathering we had was to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. I have included a picture of him with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter Haylie.

Love Is In The Air

Happy Valentines Day! Today is considered the day we celebrate our love for each other. My husband and I actually did something a little different this Valentine's Day. After exchanging mushy cards we headed to Seguin and had breakfast together, just he and I. We usually go to dinner but opted this year for breakfast instead. It was so nice to spend some quality alone time. I love my husband so much and I am so glad we have each other. Yes, we have had some bumps in the road, but it has helped us grow into the couple we are. Here are the top 10 reasons I love my man...

1. He makes me feel like I am the most beautiful girl in the world

2. He makes delious "sticky toast"

3. He does things around the house without being asked to

4. He takes care of me when I'm sick...I'm a baby when I'm sick

5. He puts up with my crazy family

6. He can be very romantic

7. He is one of the most unselfish people I know

8. He gives me cards & includes little notes in them that I treasure

9. He believes in me

10. He is my rock, I know that no matter what, he is there for me!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!

Brookelyn Elizabeth

Today I am taking a break from "Memory Lane of Hollywood" and blogging about my precious granddaughter, Brookelyn Elizabeth Hansen! She belongs to my middle son Derric and his wife Jessica. They live in Schriever, Louisiana. Brookelyn is 18 months old and is so cute. I don't get to see her very often and when I do, by the time she warms up to me, its time for them to leave. And then when I see her the next time, its start all over... Brookelyn had tubes put in her ears last week and is doing o.k. She had the procedure done and all went well. Of course Granna and Paw Paw had to send her a get well package. She got a camera, some bracelets, snacks, an Elmo book, and some puzzles. Brookelyn is in to Elmo, loves animals and can make all their sounds. She likes to play with her play cell phone (and loves real ones too) and have her feet rubbed! I started that one. When they were here last, my son Derric wanted me to rub his feet. I did of course and then she laid down and wanted me to do hers. Of course it thrilled me to do it because she was actually having something to do with me....so needless to say, Granna provided lots of foot rubs!!

Aunt Bessie

While in California ...actually the reason we went...was to celebrate Aunt Bessie's 90th birthday. The dinner party was held at her grandson Sean's house. Their home is gorgeous by the way. The meal was Armenian food which I had never had before. I tried it andmost of it was pretty good. The birthday cake was very pretty and CHOCOLATE, my favorite. I have included a picture of Aunt Bessie with her birthday cake and a photo of her when she was 16 years old.

California tour

O.k. first of all, the answers to the Hollywood Trivia! The first house belongs to Leonardo Decaprio, the 2nd house belongs to Julia Roberts...or should I say did. She sold it to Donald Trump and The Apprentice, Celebrity Edition was filmed in this house. And the last picture was in the film Julia did "Pretty Woman". This was her character Vivian's apartment. Remember at the end Richard Gere climbing up the fire escape to get her? The picture today is the house Humphrey Bogart and his first wife lived in.

More Hollywood trivia

Well on yesterdays trivia question if you guessed Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez you would be correct. Try these. Picture #1 - this house belongs to a current film star who I just loved in movie also starring Kate Winslet. Picture #2- this house was owned by she and her husband who they later sold it to Donald Trump and "The Apprentice" was filmed there. Picture #3- this same woman, in one of her movies, lived here.

Hollywood Trivia

Ok...one of the fun things I did in California was take a tour of the movie stars homes. Some were stars of today and some were stars of the past. I have posted a picture of one of the homes I saw ...can you guess who it belongs to? Here is a hint. This couple starred in a comedy sitcom and it was filmed in black and white. It is a classic.

Answer: tune in to tomorrow!!!

California Baby!!

Man...has it really been almost a month since I've blogged? My last entry told about how I would be traveling to California with my grandmother to see her sister Bessie for her 90th birthday. We departed Austin on Friday, Jan. 23rd at 8:45 a.m. We arrived in the big city at 10:20 a.m. California time. After we got the rental car situated and got to our hotel, we went to eat and then went to suprise Aunt Bessie. Me and Mimi (my grandmother) and her other sister, Merle and her neice Alice had a great week-end and I intend to share pictures of our trip over the month aof February since there is to many to download at once. This picture is of the famous Hollywood Sign. It was kina foggy but I was able to get a pretty decent picture of it.

California Bound

Well I am heading to California Jan. 23rd and returning on the 26th. I am accompanying my grandmother to her sister Bessie's 90th birthday party. Mimi (what I call my grandmother) along with her sister Merle, are flying to California, along with myself and Alice, who is Aunt Merle's daughter, and suprising the birthday girl!! It will be nice to see everyone and I am looking forward to meeting some of my cousins for the very first time. Mimi is so excited and it touches my heart. She is already packing I think!

HAPPY 2009!!!

Well the new year started as usual with good intentions and I have already blown some of my good intentions! To back track a little, I had a great Christmas, all my kids and grandkids were here and it was nice to have everyone together at the same time (picture is of my grandkids that I had on my Christmas card). New Years Eve was uneventful...I don't think I stayed up past 9:00 p.m. so I didn't really ring in the New Year. New Years day is my son Travis's birthday as well as my granddaughter Addisyn. Its hard to believe "My Baby" turned 22 years old on Jan. 1st. I always cook a dinner for the birthday boy or girl and they choose the menu. Travis chose taco salad and cheesecake for dessert. I bought the cheesecake and taco salad is like the easiest thing in the world to make so I got lucky on that one. And of course New Years wouldn't be complete without New Years resolutions. I have started a diet....o.k. I do every year and totally blow it by the next week but can't a girl dream? Until my next blog entry......
