Reflections of 2008

I hope everyone reading my blog had a wonderful Christmas! I have been so busy lately I can't believe so much time has passed since my last blog entry. Well as 2008 comes to an end, I have been thinking back on this past year and the special moments I have had and shared with family and friends. One of my favorite things was going to Walt Disney World in Florida this past September with three of my grandchildren. I have included a picture of Reagan, Preston. and Haylie in front of Cinderella's castle. I will cherish this picture forever.

Newly Weds Return

Sharon and Kyle returned from Fabulous Las Vegas!!! They said they had an o.k. time, but they would have had more fun if they would have listened to Vegas pros, such as me and my husband. It appears that all they did was drink! They had a great time hanging out at Toby Keith's bar and grill even though they didn't even try the FRIED SNICKER BAR. Oh well....for them the ole' saying is true WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS and apparently that is true with their $$$ as well. They have some really nice wedding pictures to capture their special day. I guess I will have to break down and buy the video if I ever want to see it. They didn't get it and my guess it would have tapped in to their beer fund! Anyway...Welcome home you guys and Sharon, welcome to our crazy family!

Coffee Break

There is nothing better in the morning than having coffee with a good friend. Well maybe there are some things better but for the purpose of this blog we will say there's not. Hahaha!!! But seriously it so nice to have good friends you can have coffee with and share your life with and know you can say anything and they will still be your friend. My friend Mary Ann and I did just that this morning. So as I reflect on this past year, I am so blessed to have a circle of freinds I can have coffee with, laugh with, cry with, solve the world's problems with. And man do Mary Ann and I have some good ideas! So take a moment after reading my blog entry to reflect on those friends who are always there for you, the people you can just be yourself around and thank God for bringing them into your life. And then go on....make a pot of coffee and invite them over. You'll be glad you did!

She's Done!!!

Well I have some news hot off the press. My daughter Leah informs me today that she is getting a divorce. Her husband has a little sweetie on the side and she is not putting up with it. This happened awhile back too but she forgave him and lo and behold it happens again. So 8 months and $14,000.00 later IT'S OVER!!! Oh well, I will save a little on Christmas this year!

Christmas Party

Yesterday I had my work Christmas party in Austin. Austin is where the main office is. So my husband John and I, along with our good friends, Karen and Isidore, traveled to Austin for the festivities. Karen works for the company too. We had turkey and dressing and all the trimmings. It was delicious! It was so nice to get to mingle with the folks from Austin as we don't get to see them very often. The picture I have posted is of me and my boss, Bernadette. She is a great boss, and no I am not just saying that. She doesn't even know I have a blog.

Preston turns 8

My grandson Preston is eight years old today. He has lost his two front teeth and looks so adorable. The tooth fairy brought him $10....my how the times have changed. I remember getting 25 cents! Preston is a smart little boy. He is in 2nd grade and SMART! Do I sound like a typical grandma? He loves math and reading. He plays pee-wee football, little league baseball (in the spring), and is a member of Clover Kids. Its part of the 4-H program for younger kids. His pee-wee football team, on Nov. 23rd, played on Texas State University football field in the pee-wee Superbowl and won 8-0. Yea Brahmas!!!
